Jazzhus Montmartre

Jazzhus Monmartre is situated in the center of Copenhagen and invites you in for jazz concerts all year round

All the way back from 1959 and until the mid-70’s, Jazzhus Montmartre played an important part in the international jazz world, when jazz pioneers such as Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Stan Getz and Kenny Drew visited the place. In May 2010, Montmartre reopened at its original address in Store Regnegade, and has once again established itself as an important part of the Copenhagen jazz scene. Here, you can experience the best of jazz in a special and cosy atmosphere, and enjoy the music with a good dinner and wine at affordable prices. The jazz house presents world-class jazz every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but music also fills the intimate music hall on the rest of the week days, for instance with Upcoming and Folk every other Tuesday and Wednesday.

Restaurant Leaven

Jazzhus Montmatre also houses Restaurant Leaven, which combines modern simplicity from the New Nordic kitchen with southern temperament from the French. The New Nordic kitchen has developed into a world-wide gastronomic movement representing cleanliness, simplicity, freshness and ethics. The changing seasons are reflected in the dishes just like they’re based on fresh produce from the Nordic climate, landscapes and waters. Uniting the Nordic cooking methods and culinary traditions with impulses from the rest of the world, in this case French, is one of the special characteristics of the New Nordic kitchen.

Non-profit principles

Jazzhus Montmartre is based on non-profit principles, and the club's entire income is spent on creating even bigger events for the public. This goes for food and drinks as well: any profit from the bar and restaurant goes to presenting jazz and keeping one of Copenhagen's important culture institutions alive.
